INCITS Technical Committees (e.g., L8) operate under policies and procedures described in INCITS SD-2. Participation is based on organization (e.g., a company, not an individual). The annual fee is 800.00 USD ($800). Each organization may designate a primary representative and an alternative representative.

Members may participate in a variety of ways, including (but not limited to):

Contributing standards wording to projects. |

Becoming an editor for a project. |

Reviewing wording and providing comments. |

Providing an organization's official position via balloting or voting. |

Administrative support for the standards process. |

Attending meetings (both in-person and teleconference). |
